The successful trade fair format for the first time in Vienna: In November 2024, “ Paper Positions Vienna ” took place as a new event in the Kursalon in Vienna’s 1st district in the heart of Vienna.
As with all "Positions" trade fairs, LEISE Design was also responsible for the spatial planning for the new location in Vienna. A characteristic feature of this trade fair format is the translation of the idea of an art salon into an approachable and exciting trade fair experience. The form of the exhibition architecture creates the atmosphere of a group exhibition, where visitors have the opportunity to perceive the artistic positions in dialogue.
After its successful premiere, “Paper Positions Vienna” will take place again in November 2025.
Paper Positions Berlin 2024
The eighth edition of the art fair " Paper Positions Berlin " took place from April 25 to April 28, 2024. The more than 150 positions of contemporary and modern art in this fair format all have one thing in common: they focus on drawing and the material paper.
LEISE Design has been responsible for planning the exhibition architecture and furnishings since the fair began in 2017. The structure, designed as a salon exhibition, offers space for the positions and creates transitions. The result speaks for itself. We are looking forward to the next fair!

As part of the new conception of the trade fair, LEISE Design was commissioned to design the exhibition architecture as well as the catering and lounge areas of Art Karlsruhe and to supervise the implementation.
For the tenth year in a row, LEISE Design is planning the exhibition architecture and furnishings for the art fair that takes place every year in September as part of Berlin Art Week.
In 2023, 100 galleries from 20 countries showed contemporary and modern art on an area of over 12,000 square meters in Hangars 5 and 6 of Berlin-Tempelhof Airport . 28,000 visitors speak for themselves :)
The design lines of goldsmith and qualified designer Franziska Rappold are based on simple basic shapes, which are combined into concise and elegant pieces of jewelry through rows or three-dimensional arrangement.
The guiding principle is that the hand-made jewellery should be easy to wear and versatile. The same requirement served us when developing the concept for a long-lasting, mobile
and modular exhibition stand.

The focus of this exhibition is the diversity of local mineral resources, their origin and creation. It brings us closer to the geological raw materials on our doorstep and provides insights into their everyday and ubiquitous use. But how do we deal with them? And will we soon run out of raw materials?
The museum, which opened in Frankfurt am Main in September 2021, is the first exhibition house in the world to be dedicated to the era of German-speaking Romanticism as a whole. Unique originals are presented with innovative exhibition formats that make the Romantic period a tangible experience as a key era. Under the artistic direction of "Sounds of Silence" (Petra Eichler and Susanne Kessler) and in collaboration with Jörg Gimmler, the exhibition architecture, furnishings and object design for the approximately 760 square meter permanent exhibition were developed within three years and the realization was supervised.




To launch the new collection from Siegen-based manufacturer Konstantin Slawinski, LEISE Design conceived, designed and implemented trade fair appearances in Cologne, Paris and Frankfurt in January and February 2018.

imm cologne 2017
LEISE Design has developed and realized a trade fair appearance for the Konstantin Slawinski collection at the international furniture fair «imm cologne».
The core idea of the appearance was to focus on the new interplay of the collection elements and the mutually complementary product concepts in a condensed form on 20 square meters of presentation space.
As part of the curated project “Pure Platforms”, the new products designed by Knut Völzke, such as the YU sideboard system and a product family consisting of a coat rack, mirror, wall shelf and magnetic board, were presented.
The third edition of the art fair «Positions Berlin» took place at the «Postbahnhof Berlin» as the fair with the most exhibitors at the Berlin Art Week 2016.
LEISE Design developed an exhibition architecture for the two-story building from 1907 for 74 gallery presentations from 13 countries.
Special exhibition for the international garden fair spoga+gafa.
Conception, editing, design and planning of an exhibition on the sustainability topic "Bees and Co."
The project developed by LEISE Design provided information about the different types of bees, why they are so important to humans, what threatens them and how you can help bees in your own garden and on your balcony.

We often take colors like the blue of the sky or the green of the meadows for granted. We forget that we are constantly surrounded by an almost unlimited variety of colors. But what is it that we call color and how is it created? Do all people see the same colors? What is metamerism and what is the history of the color indigo?
In eight thematic areas with many interactive exhibits, the Public Science Project of the Carl Bosch Museum shows
the complexity of the phenomenon of color.




In its second year, the art fair "Positions Berlin Art Fair" took place in the 6,500 square meter "Arena Berlin". In what was once Europe's largest self-supporting hall from the 1920s, around 18,000 visitors saw gallery presentations from 16 countries.
LEISE Design was once again responsible for the general planning of the exhibition architecture and furnishings of the trade fair.

What is sustainability?
Exhibition of sustainable materials for the garden market.
Special exhibition for the international garden trade fair spoga+gafa 2015 in Cologne. In an architecture designed and realized by Leise Design from temporarily used garden wood and printed cardboard honeycomb panels, infographics and innovative material and application examples showed important aspects of the social, economic and ecological context for the garden market.

Wilde+Spieth – Quality made in Germany
At the “Musikmesse Frankfurt” in April 2015, the company Wilde+Spieth presented the current collection of musicians’ chairs designed by Egon Eiermann as well as additional orchestra accessories.
The design of the exhibition stand by LEISE Design underlined the high-quality manufacturing of the products manufactured in Germany and distributed worldwide.
Conception, design and realization of the trade fair appearance for the current office and object furniture collection of the company Wilde+Spieth at the trade fair «Orgatec», the leading international trade fair for office & object in October 2014 in Cologne.

Positions Berlin 2014
General planning of the exhibition architecture and furnishing of the new art fair «Positions Berlin».
The new format for contemporary and modern art is part of the "Berlin Art Week" and took place from 18 to 21 September 2014 in the approximately 3000 square metre former Jandorf department store in Berlin Mitte.
Material exhibition for the 17th Tour of the HfG Offenbach
From old wood wallpaper to leather tiles, the exhibition project "Look Alike" in July 2014 showed a selection of the latest surface developments in the form of a material contest, which gave visitors the difficult choice of which imitation was able to imitate its model most impressively.
The focus of Wilde+Spieth's trade fair appearance at the Frankfurt Music Fair in April 2014 was the special quality of the orchestral seating, which is unique in the industry.
Exhibition of award-winning products
After LEISE Design emerged as the winner of the invited competition to design the exhibition “Design Plus 2014”, the selected concept was realized for the “Ambiente” trade fair in February 2014.
In January 2014, the company Wilde+Spieth presented its current home and contract furniture collection as part of the curated project “Pure Village” at the International Furniture Fair in Cologne.

The exhibition project “Green Clover and Dynamite – Nitrogen and Life” tells the exciting story of an omnipresent substance with special properties, its outstanding biological significance, as well as its political explosiveness.
Exhibition for the 16th Tour of the HfG Offenbach
Together with Prof. Petra Kellner, Knut Völzke once again led the seminar "Color II" in the main course of the product design department, which this year dealt with the topic of "pigment." An exhibition was developed for the tour in July 2013 that presented the topic in a spatial installation that was both visually and haptically comprehensible.
In April 2013, the company Wilde+Spieth presented its world premiere of wireless orchestra lighting at the music fair in Frankfurt am Main.
LEISE Design designed the trade fair appearance as a stylized orchestra situation.
Nya Nordiska at imm cologne 2013
Presentation of the textile publisher Nya Nordiska as part of the exhibition platform «Pure Textile» in Hall 3.2 of the international furniture fair in Cologne.
A trade fair stand as a "material spatial staging" with a high stylistic concentration of the current worlds of color and form. It gave the appearance a brand-specific unique selling point and ensured cross-industry attention.
Sustainable materials move in cycles
Exhibition project for the garden fair «spoga+gafa» in September 2012 in Cologne. From thermally treated wood to bio-composite materials, the exhibition showed innovative, sustainable materials in the context of their ecological circular properties.
Display boards to visualize the occurrence and use of materials for electronic devices
In addition to complex plastic compounds, glass and metals such as copper and nickel, electronic devices contain around 10% rare metals such as platinum, gold and rare earths. Their occurrence is limited to a few locations worldwide, but without them our digitalized world would not function.
Color light installation for the 15th Tour of the HfG Offenbach
Together with Prof. Petra Kellner and the students of the “Color II” seminar at the Offenbach University of Art and Design, Knut Völzke developed a spatial situation for the tour in July 2012 that used targeted color light sequences to make the interaction of colors perceptible to humans tangible in an impressive way.

As a representative of Prof. Peter Eckart (Integrative Design), Knut Völzke supervised the design and implementation project “Structures In Exhibition” at the University of Art and Design in Offenbach am Main in the winter semester of 2010/2011.

A trade fair appearance as a "walk-in website". The two-dimensional world of the well-known online platform became a three-dimensional, graphic course that invited visitors to linger and stroll through to discover the company's expanded range of products.

Kraft Maschinen – Insights and Outlooks
Conception and design of a company museum for the Kraft Group with headquarters in Rietberg, Westphalia.
In its almost 200-year history, the current group of companies has developed from a wagon-building forge to one of the leading providers in the field of special machine construction. The rooms of the old forge, which have been built over several times in its history, were chosen as the location for the museum.

The exhibition design plays with the system character that is so characteristic of German design and translates it into a new, exciting and vibrantly colored architectural landscape that opens up unexpected viewpoints and perspectives.

Things that speak for themselves
Presentation of the Design Edition of the SZ Magazine at the trade fair “The Design Annual” in July 2008 in Frankfurt am Main.
A trade fair stand entirely in white, with black letters. Associations with the classic newspaper medium were translated into the space graphically and architecturally in order to underline the independence of the exhibits and at the same time bring them together as a curated edition.
Stylepark at «Designers' Saturday 2008»
A design event in an unusual location: in the production halls of the home textiles manufacturer Création Baumann in Langenthal, in the Swiss canton of Bern.
Leise Design took the special spatial context into account and developed an installation consisting of around 800 cardboard boxes with color-coded information elements for the presentation of Stylepark AG.

Conception, design and realization of the exhibition for the 175th anniversary of the Offenbach am Main University of Art and Design.
Museum presentation of selected works by 59 graduates, out of a total of 3000 alumni from the years 1970 to 2007 in the fields of design, media and art.

CO2 is the world's best-known chemical formula today, even better known than the formula for water. But as much as CO2 is discussed in public, its many facets, from the elixir of life to the climate killer, are mostly unknown.

Inside: Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin
Media installation on the content work of the Süddeutsche Zeitung magazine, which was awarded the “Lead Award”.
For the event “The Design Annual 2007” in Frankfurt am Main, the LEISE design studio developed an exhibition project in which a projection surface in the form of an oversized, upright SZ magazine reflected the visual language and processes of the magazine’s editorial work.



40 Private Objects Identified
Stylepark in Residence, Kölnischer Kunstverein 2007
Design of an exhibition for 40 personal identification objects by contemporary designers, architects, artists and publicists who were selected and invited by the design and architecture platform «Stylepark».
The exhibits were housed in a nine-meter-long, open-topped “box” that rose up the steps of the art association and from which labeled position flags protruded, providing information about the objects on display.
As part of the “fresch 2006” event, Leise Design together with Spezial Produktgestaltung presented the interactive exhibition project “Frankfurt’s Favorite Places” from August 25 to 27.
From August 26 to 28, 2005, Leise Design together with Spezial Produktgestaltung presented the installation "Frankfurt / Tokio / Frankfurt" as part of the event "fresch - Design in the Park", a travel and experience report of their joint stay in Japan in June 2005.
As part of the "Germany in Japan Year", Leise and Spezial were invited to exhibit as "German Talents" in the German Pavilion at the "Interior Lifestyle" trade fair. The exhibition offered the opportunity to report on their experiences in Japan.

Dust is omnipresent and yet extraordinary. The smaller the particles, the more they defy gravity. Dust often has a variety of positive and critical properties.
Against the background of the discussion about fine dust and nanoscale materials, the exhibition aims to provide information about the environmental factor dust in an understandable and entertaining way.
